Parent Support
--> Insurance Groups
Securing insurance approval for Day Treatment can be a very overwhelming
task, we at the center are aware of this. After talking with several parents,
writing endless letters of medical necessity and going through too many
appeal processes we decided to ask our graduated families to share their
insurance experiences. We want to help you, the prospective parent with
the insurance approval process by providing resources. Here at the center
we thought it would be helpful to organize parent insurance groups for
perspective families. The idea is simple, parents helping parents; parents
of children who have completed our program with insurance covering the
costs are the best resource for families entering the program. Our graduated
families remember what it was like contacting insurance companies, reviewing
“CPT” codes, trying to explain how desperate they were for
their child to eat and eventually get off his/her feeding tube.
A staff person from the Center will be a designated contact for each
of the insurance groups, Aetna, the Red Team, Oxford, the Blue Team and
United Healthcare, the Yellow Team. By clicking on your insurance group
you can communicate with your designated staff person, ask to speak with
graduated families in your group, post feedback etc. Parents are the best
advocates for their children this system can put you in touch with parents
who have successfully advocated for their children to be admitted into
Day Treatment.
